What is Claude Dispatch?
Claude Dispatch is part of Claude Cowork, a suite of tools that lets you collaborate with Claude on your desktop and mobile devices.
You can start from your desktop or mobile app. Dispatch runs through a persistent thread, so context and history carry across tasks instead of resetting every time.
When you assign a task from your phone, Claude performs the work on your desktop machine—accessing your files, apps, Slack, email, and other tools you've already configured in Cowork. Development tasks like fixing bugs or opening pull requests automatically spawn a Claude Code session, while knowledge work stays in Cowork.
You get results and notifications back on mobile, so you can stay informed and review what Claude has done whenever you're ready.

Before you begin
Make sure you have the following in place:
- ✓ Latest Claude Desktop on macOS or Windows x64
- ✓ Latest Claude mobile app
- ✓ Pro or Max plan
- ✓ Desktop must stay awake
- ✓ Claude desktop app must stay open
How setup works
Update desktop app
Ensure you have the latest Claude Desktop version installed on your computer.
Update iOS or Android app
Make sure your mobile Claude app is fully updated from your device's app store.
Open Cowork on phone or desktop
Launch the Cowork feature from either device to begin setup.
Click Dispatch in the left sidebar
Navigate to the Dispatch option in your Cowork menu.
Click Get started
Begin the setup wizard. You'll be prompted to pair your phone with your desktop. Open the Claude mobile app on your phone, navigate to Cowork → Dispatch, and scan the QR code shown on your desktop screen to link the two devices.
Toggle file access and keep-awake settings
Configure permissions and system settings according to your needs and preferences.
Finish setup
Complete the final steps and you're ready to start using Claude Dispatch.
